CIC + TCU Europe E91 retrofit (from non IDrive)

So, for whatever logical reason, I decided that I didn't want a Chinese Android on my non idrive dashboard and went ahead, paid 4-5X the amount and 20X the time to retrofit an entire Idrive system from scratch (along paddle shifters that currently don't work, and ACC that I haven't tested yet and HIFI that does seem to work).

Now I am at the coding phase and something doesn't feel quite right with the TCU module. I tested a lot of FA codes and what seems to actually bring up a module called TCUM in the ECU list is $633. My phone did pair to the system and it seems to work from the user side but I am unable to code it in NCS Expert (SG_CODIEREN job). It brings up an error. I also added a bunch of BMW Online and BMW Assist FA codes but I don't think those are an issue.

Anyone know the correct FA coding for the TCU? I see most people retrofit the combox. My TCU is from a donor E91 LCI with the same production year (2010) and it says TCU 1.5 from Continental. I can maybe attach a picture if it helps. I also have a SOS speaker that I retrofitted, with the correct wiring after hours of looking over the diagrams.

Thanks in advance!

For getting the TCU to be programmed check out this thread

Thanks for your reply.

I actually saw that post but it didn't work for me. I added $644, $612 and $640 (instead of 639 for US cars) and it still works odd. Even ISTA shows a ULF module in the module tree and says it can not communicate with it.

Did you setup the MOST bus junction as shown in this video?

I believe you also need to enable the telephone option in radio as well

I am not sure if this situation applies to me. So, I retrofitted CIC + TCU to a non idrive car, from a donor vehicle where I got the complete wiring harness for it as well. My old configuration simply did not have any MOST communication in it.

Ista is currently showing CIC + TCU in the unit tree and they are both green and error free. However, if I try and code the TCU with NCS, it gives an error despite de phone features seem to work fine (apart from the SOS error).

As an update, I did manage to find the old car's vin and got the options list. This is the correct options list for my case, 2010 European E91 with CIC + TCU 1.5:
0609 Navigation system Professional
0612 BMW Assist
0614 Internet preparation
0615 Extended BMW Online Information
0616 BMW Online
0620 Voice control
0633 Preparation, mobile phone, Business
0698 Area-Code 2 for DVD
06AA BMW TeleServices
06AB Control, Teleservices
07SP Navi Professional/m.-ph.prep. Bluetooth

In this configuration, it's no longer expecting a ULF module.

Again, the only question remains, does it matter that NCS throws an error when attempting to code the TCU, when functionality seems to be fine? Should I look into writing a vin in it? Does it maybe require FSC codes?
