Sunroof error and FIX!

I got an error on my dash for a sunroof malfunction recently as the sunroof would not close fully when i push the buttons on my roof lining and it just goes all funny and i think other members also had this problem, so i just wanted to post that i found a solution:

- just push the "tilt" button on the sunroof controls (so just push up) and hold it for about 30 seconds, and it might seem your arms will hurt like hell, but just hold it

- then the sunroof will first tilt up by itself and then close and then it will fully open (retract) and then close back up again, i think its just going through its cycle for the open and close functions

- after that, the error was FIXED!

this solution is very simple as i asked my Service Adviser as it's a common glitch with BMWs apparently and it will definitely save you a trip to the dealer when its so simple

+1 Thanks for posting the fix. I had this problem today, searched the forum for "sunroof tilt", and a minute later all is good. A big thanks for creating this thread.
