Walnut Blast @ 55k Miles

For anyone curious as to whether or not you should pull the trigger on this maintenance task, here is what my intake valves looked like at just 55,000 miles. Albeit, I'm in Southern California and our "Premium" 91 octane (ACN91) is subpar when compared to the rest of the country, I was still shocked at what I found.

Altogether this cost me about $200 and took roughly 4 hours to complete.
-Harbor Freight 20 lbs pressurized blaster = $75
-25 lbs Walnut Shells = $25
-Vacuum Hose intake adapter = $10
-3 gal / 3 hp Craftsman Shop-Vac = $35
-Intake Manifold gasket set = $40
-Throttle body gasket = $10

Looks great. Just did mine, and was really pleased with the results. Where/how did you get a 3 gal / 3 hp Craftsman Shop-Vac for $35?

Notice any difference in throttle response or gas mileage?

I got it at Lowe's, my Military discount is pretty sweet over there haha.

The car definitely feels smoother and stronger throughout the powerband, no hesitation and a bit more effortless acceleration. I haven't put enough miles on it yet to notice any increased fuel economy, but I'm going to be taking it on about a 1k mile roundtrip drive soon, I'll update then.
