Just bought my used E90 still under factory warranty... what to do?

My E90 is an '06 with 15,500 on it. Just wondering what exactly I should do to get myself as the registered owner with BMW. It was not purchased at a BMW lot. Is the vehicle still covered under the 4-5 year/50,000 mile warranty? I've heard that includes brakes, tires, oil changes, etc. Is that true as well?

You are covered under the 4yr/50k, but you can't buy a BMW extended warranty (there are aftermarket ones from AAA if you are interested) since you aren't the original owner. You don't need to register yourself as the new owner, the service department will do things based on your VIN number which has the date coded into it.

You may want to go to a local BMW shop and ask them to pull up the records to double check that the 15,000mi service was completed.

a dumb question here, but if i want to get an oil change done before the "service" warning comes up, do i pay for it? or can it be covered under bmw warranty?

That is not true. My friend bought a used 2006 325i still under warranty from a MB dealership and he bought extended warranty from the BMW dealership.

If you got all the manuals with the car, the last page of the service manual has 2 post cards, 1 of which you can use to notify BMW of the change in ownership.
