Correct Angel eye/ Parking Bulb E90 323i 2009

Hi guys!
My driver side Angel eye bulb went out, so the rings don't light up. i understand i need a new bulb, i went to BMW. asked for the bulb type . they said it is an H8 35W, i went to another store, bought the bulb for cheaper, then i opened the cap where the bulbs are located, i couldnt find a H8 bulb or something like it there, there is a different type of bulb there. Am i looking at the wrong place (Inside the hood ) or does the car have a different type of bulb?

Thank You!

To access the Halo bulb you have to remove the front wheel shroud. then you will see a black plastic cover protruding out. Use a small screwdriver to lightly lift the lock tabs on the top and bottom while pulling on it. then you can see the Halo bulb. you will need a precision screwdriver or a torx to unscrew the screws on each side to remove the bulb. there are only 2 wire connectors and I believe they are polarity sensitive.

there were two types. LCI models got H8s. You should have an H*, you can get at it through a small access door in the fender well. It's easiest however if you just commit to pulling the wheel and peeling back the front of the fender liner.

sounds like a great time to invest in a quality KDCAN cable and some software.
You can grab a used module on ebay for a few bucks and reprogram it to your car yourself. Or simply update your existing module.
Save yourself a thousand dollars and get yourself the stuff you need for future diagnostics.
