D8 Sport Springs and shocks ride height

I have a BMW 330 2006 and I just replaced all 4 shocks with Bilstein sport struts and shocks in addition I purchased and intstalled (D8) sport springs taken out of a 335 and now my ride hight is much more than before.

Any suggestions on how to fix or what went wrong?

D8 springs from a 335 may have higher spring rates than what would be fitted to a 330. this might put your ride height higher.

Not from personal experience, but from reading threads, Bilstein dampers sometimes start out high and settle.

Thank you!

What does the D8 mean?

The car that had the springs looked much lower than mine now.

It's simply an identification code. D character is sport suspension, C character is standard suspension.

My 328i with sport suspension had D5 on front, D4 in rear.

At one time, I purchased a set from someone with a 335i sport and springs were D7 front and D5 rear.

My understanding is BMW uses higher spring rates for heavier cars. If the spring was standard from a 335i, it might have a higher rate and cause your car to sit higher. Likewise, a 335d is even heavier and might increase your ride height more.

BMW Performance springs. They make them for liter e90 as well. They are $400 new but you can shop for used here in the classified section.

Btw sachs are crap, they don't last long. Bmw used sachs as oem equiepment. Pretty much all out there is better than sachs!

Not sure what you have now, but if you want to use oem sport springs, I think it's best to find out the spring codes that apply to your car. Your year, model (330i) should have a specific set of spring codes for cars with the sport package. That would insure that your ride height is near factory for sport package for your car. You might consider reaching out to other 330i owners on this forum or to a local BMWCCA club.

Once you know the codes, you could purchase new at a BMW dealership (expensive, and they could probably tell you the codes), or buy them used. There is a subforum for suspension parts on e90post. Ebay is a possibility. Junk yards are another possibility.

Other options such as the one suggested by feure are possible as well, but will lower you even more and will likely have a firmer ride.
