TRW Dampers - any good?

Need to replace dampers at some point. These TRW branded ones are coming in very cheap on autodoc.co.uk. But never used this brand before - are they as good as OEM? Does anyone know how they compare to OEM?

Also, I might change the springs whilst I'm doing suspension work - Eibach springs? Which ones are good?

Thanks!

Trw are Oem, certainly for control arms and torsion rods because that was the name stamped on the old ones! I don't know who made the standard shocks though as I binned my old ones without checking.

your assuming your old ones are from factory,,could be old new ones(replaced) but i have heard of folk saying they made bits for bmw,,and sachs are the original suppliers of bmw shocks,,also febi bilstein make a few bits..like flex disc etc

I know my car, they were the original arms The old arms also had the BMW roundel as well as 'TRW' marked on them.

After looking again, it looks like the REALLY cheap ones are out of stock so guessing it was an error or something. The others are priced on par to other OEM brands. Also thinking of going down the coilover routes - KW V2s....hmmmmmmmm
