Engineering Explained: coal filter testing

Engineering Explained did an interesting video on the whether or not removing the coal filter makes a difference. He tested it with a stock filter and also a K&N filter. It's a different car but still interesting nonetheless. Here is a summary of his findings:

Code:
	Stock w/ coal	Stock w/o coal K&N w/ coal	K&N w/o coal
HP	160.1 164.2 (+4.1, 2.5%)	164.4 167.1 (+2.7, 1.6%)
Tq	137.4 141.8 (+4.4, 3.1%)	142.5 143.1 (+0.6, 0.4%)
20-60	9.01 8.73 (-0.28, 3.2%)	8.81 8.70 (-0.11, 1.3%)
45-60	3.61 3.46 (-0.15, 4.1%)	3.49 3.46 (-0.03, 0.9%)

Thinking about doing a charcoal delete with K&N drop in and a silencer delete. Would y'all recommend this over a CAI? I just feel like the car would like it better and I don't want to trip up my MAF with a whole bunch more airflow of the CAI

Yes we would recommend it. All of us.

Ok that's what I was thinking. I have a couple buddies who have cold air intakes and the sound is inciting but not something I would value over practically XD

A CAI isn't going to flow a whole bunch more air. I think most of us would only suggest a CAI if you want to maximize your intake noise.

Yeah you'll see around here most people are against CAIs due to the high price for next to zero performance benefit. That and the Sprintbooster.

I'm a firm believer the ideal, or at close to, air intake setup for these motors is:

Euro intake - silicon elbow - 3 stage intake manifold.

Where would you suggest I get a Euro intake?

Sorry I had to be a smartass real quick

Try ebay.co.uk and ebay.de
Use this thread as a guide, literally just copy and paste whatever the guy made and some intakes should show up. I paid $70 for mine + $30 shipping from the fatherland.
