B12 question
A few weeks ago one if the brothers here mentioned that when we get the Bilstein B12 kit we must also swap out the away bars. I have a 2011 Coupe that had the sport suspension, so it already was lowered somewhat. The B12 lowered it maybe another half to 3/4 of an inch. Comments from people that have done it please.

Here are a couple of things I have gleaned over the years:
Sway bars don’t NEED to be swapped with a new spring/damper setup. Some PREFER the swap just because they feel it will give them a ‘matched’ setup. With a new spring/damper setup that lowers the car significantly, sway bar END LINK length should be changed to accommodate the lowering. I have a 2006 330i that was on OEM sport suspension for 100k miles. I switched to a B12 kit with new mounts & hardware this past spring, and did not change my end link length. My reasons were that coming from the OEM sport suspension, the B12 kit doesn’t really lower the car significantly. The 0.5”-0.75” drop advertised is from BASE suspension, not SPORT suspension. (My ride height actually increased with the B12 kit due to replacing the worn mounts & hardware) |

99% of the kits that advertise the drop is from base suspension. My B12 kit really didnt drop anything in front, and 1 finger in back.

From a new or in good condition suspension they do ,worn springs, mounts, shocks, bushings equals sag and then you prob will notice that much more better of a ride with the upgrade
