Falken FK453 vs Conti DW sidewall comparison
Last season I was having issues with my "then" new Falken FK453's rubbing the fender compared to the same tire size previously (Conti DW). Situation being that it is, I was able to directly compare the sidewall profile of a 275/30/19 Conti DW and a 265/30/19 Falken FK453. DW on the left, FK453 on the right:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8p...ew?usp=sharing Even with the wider track of the Conti you can see how much more stance friendly they are. Where I circled the Falken is the location I would rub. The tires are mounted to the same spec wheel (9.5" wide). The camera lens is centered as best I could manage. The season previous to the Falken's I was able to run a much more aggressive spacer setup with NO rubbing. Thought it was worth sharing. |

Well if you consider being lowered on Eibach prokits with Koni yellows a "stanced ride" then yeah I guess I run a "stanced look". Maybe a better term would be "fitment friendly". I run a very typical E9x wheel setup (8.5" front rims with 235/35/19 tires) and even without spacers on the front wheels I would have rubbing on hard bumps only. The year previously on my DW's I could run 8mm spacers up front with no issues. I just like a clean flush wheel setup (doesn't everyone?!?) and running these Falkens last season didn't really work well for that. I figured it was worth sharing so if you want to discount everything mentioned in this thread because of one word used, be my guest.
