Hot brake/wheel on 1 side
Hi
Noticed this recently, even after a fairly brisk 20 minute drive from cold. My left rear has a lot of hot air coming from it whilst the right has zero, could also hear a kind of ticking noise every few seconds once i pulled up, any ideas? Its an E92 LCI 320d, been MOT’d and serviced recently and all was fine! |

Almost certainly the brake caliper sticking.
Fairly easy fix but do it immediately as it affects the braking and the heat build up could damage other components. |

Wheel bearing wouldn't get so hot and would make a groaning noise, especially around corners.
Like others have said, sticky caliper is most likely culprit. Either stuck piston or slide pins due to damaged seals. |

I've seen it before. Not discrediting the caliper as the culprit, I agree, it's the most likely, just throwing out another possibility being the bearing.

I recently had this, it was a sticking caliper. Unfortunately before I realised it was sticking it has dried out the bearing so going in for a new bearing next week. Caliper cleaned up (easy job) and treated to new discs and pads on the rears
