Replacing/Upgrading Engine Mounts?

Alright, so it looks like my engine mounts are shot and need to be replaced. After searching the forums, it looks like the consensus is upgrading to the 335is mount on the passenger side (at least). However, realoem lists this part #22116793240 and you can't find that thing for under $600. That's outrageous, and there's no way I'm paying that for a single engine mount.

Any other recommendations? Have they changed part #s and those older ones are just harder to find or something? Charging 6 times the cost of a regular mount is just blowing my mind right now.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure of why the price is so high, but Pelican seems to have one for $130 and FCP sells them for $235 each or $300 for a Corteco kit.

I thought I bought mine on ECS for just over 90 dollars. Check RockAuto as well. Worst comes to worst, get those 034 mounts.

I don't think you're looking hard enough, found it no problem on ECS tuning. I proactively did the swap when I had to do my oil pan gasket (my mechanic lifts the engine vs. dropping subframe).

I guess my confusion is this. If I go on ECS and put in BMW e92 335is N54... this is what it gives me.

Which part is the upgraded one?

You might also want to consider the 034 Motorsports mounts. These are 50A durometer solid rubber without the dampening fluid These are slightly less compliant than the iS mounts and less harsh than a poly.

the Rein part is identical to the BMW mount but it's been on backorder ( maybe they stopped making it?). Within the past few mounts the price shot up. Try pelican parts
https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...6-793-240-M203
Fcpeuro also has the BMW part for 235

I have the 034 Motorsports mounts. Feel like stock but I know they are a bit stiffer. Given the price they seem like a good solution. I worry about the solid mounts and NVH.

The Turner 60A poly mounts were too harsh for my taste. Under ~ 850 RPM and the car shook like a banshee. Simply not worth it for my application and use on the street.

The 034 50A solid rubber mounts are in the sweet spot for a dual-use vehicle IMO. They have mildly more direct feedback than stock without NVH penalty nor concern for leaking.

Other's mileage / taste may vary. The new owner of my Turner mounts loves them, together with solid AL trans bushings.

Different strokes...

Thats hilarious, It might be a out of production thing I upgraded to the 335is mount long time ago on my N52 330i and I paid less then 100 for the genuine BMW mount.

Edit, if you see my post here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=881816
You will see that I paid 78 bucks for the genuine 335is mount LOL.

I bought his Turner Mounts and they were perfect for my application. Also then later installed solid aluminum trans mounts.

Thanks again, Scott!

Does anyone know if 034 ever addressed their motor mounts failing? I was completely set on buying the 034 to replace my 115K original engine mounts but then I came across this thread which makes me hesitate:

It's not terrible but it gets worse around 2500 to 3500 rpm

Ahh thanks for the info. I spend too much time in that rpm range for it to be an option for me. Glad you like them!

Just to add:

I replaced my motor and trans mounts with Corteco OEM and E46 M3 ones, respectively, and it made quite a difference in shift feel. My old mounts certainly weren't broken either, just worn after 110k miles. Keep this in mind when upgrading mounts.

Which ones were Corteco, the 2 engine mounts? Trans mounts were e46 M3?
The Cortecos still feel strong?
