After doing a bit of research it seems even SOPT+ has been bypassed. The method seems to downgrade CAS firmware. Although the cheaper tools take 10-12 mins to complete the key programming. Glad my OBD port is rewired! |

Sorry to hijack thread but looking for advice regarding my 330D E92 2012 model.
I have recently purchased the car and it only came with one key. How much do BMW charge for a replacement key? I have read that a new key can Be programmed at home rather than taking it to the dealers? Is this possible? Thanks |

Well phoned my local dealer today and ordered a new key for a total of £167.
He told me the way to programme it was to leave it in the key drawer in the car for 10seconds and then start it and that will be it programmed. I am a bit sceptical if this is true or not. He insisted they did not need the car in the workshop to programme it he said as the key comes pre programmed the ecu only needs to learn it while it’s Inserted into the drawer. Seems to easy! Anyway I’ll give it a go and see what happens. |

I can’t find my E90 without comfort access key/fob. Dealer is charging $236, and that’s with a 15% off discount. I’m going to keep looking, and hopefully I find it. I can’t believe how expensive the key/fob is. Any suggestions on where to find it for less? Thanks.

Had to bite the bullet, and order a new key fob for my E90 without comfort access. $236.00 was the best deal I found from a dealership. Significantly cheaper than most dealers in my area. One dealer was charging $395.00.
