The REAL way to increase angel eye brightness

I had to do a lot of searching and testing and there is some wrong information out there... One post that had "verified values" said to change:
PWM_SL_V_BEI_AKTIVEN_AL
PWM_SL_V_BEI_AKTIVEN_FL

which is WRONG and won't do anything, these are for adjusting/disabling the small amber led corner light.

The proper way to disable angel eye dimming/adjust brightness:
NFRM module (for FRM2)

*AE brightness when parking lights: PWM_RL_BL_1_FKT_BL: wert_03 -> wert_01
*AE brightness when headlight on: PWM_RL_BL_1_FKT_SL: wert_07 -> wert_01

PWM_RL_BL_1_FKT_PARKL: wert_08 -> wert_01 (you may not have this line)

Wert_01 13.2V
Wert_02 aus
Wert_03 12.2V standard
Wert_04 13.0V
Wert_05 100%
Wert_06 12.7 V
Wert_07 around 7V

If you notice your angel eyes dim when the headlights turn on that is because the default is wert_07 which only puts out about 7V vs the standard 12.2V. Wert_01 allows you to increase the brightness a bit, Wert_03 will give standard voltage.

If you want to take it beyond this nettodat coding these lines with custom values is possible:

0C,9F 14.2 volt target - 13.6 volt effective with voltmeter
0C,2C 13.7 volt target - 12.7 volt effective with voltmeter

I did this with GP thunder bulbs, OEM will work also. This may not work with LEDs since it may regulate the voltage and not accept more.

Nice. Will try

Makes sense.

SL stands for side light or standing light

RL stands for Ring Light

Also if anyone has a voltmeter and wants to verify what values they are getting to the bulbs depending on the setting that would be nice.

The values I have for wert_x were taken from another posting and I am not sure how accurate they are since I have not tested them. I am interested in wert_05 100% which supposedly gives max generator voltage somwhere around 14V, maybe this would be good for those that don't know how or don't want to use nettodat custom coding.

Tried this but didnt work for me,
Still dims even when set to wert01 for PWM_RL_BL_1_FKT_BL

Even changed PWM_RL_BL_2_FKT_BL to wert01 aswell

Hi guys, resurrecting this thread to try increase angel eyes brightness WHEN Headlights/Xenon are ON.
Using Bimmercode I have set angel eyes to max in DRL mode fine. But no affect on the Standing or Parking light when change those corresponding settings.

Attached is a screenshot of all the options available under this category, from experience & using Carly + Bimmercode I am pretty sure a group of settings need changing together to make any noticeable overall change.

Any help/advice much appreciated.

Update, for the FRM3_E89 So far I have figured out how to adjust front & rear DRL brightness, but if someone could help with the highlighted ?? ?? please

DRL FRONT(Angel Eyes):
PWM_SL_1_FKT_BL_TFL = 0D 1A(Very High)

PARKING LIGHT FRONT:
PWM_SL_1_FKT_SL_TFL= ?? ??

STANDING LIGHT FRONT:
PWM_SL_1_FKT_PARKL = ?? ??

?? ??
PWM_BL_FKT_SL = ?? ??

Doing some research from various other posts I have tried a wide range of values in different combinations & did manage to get the Angel Eyes Bright With Headlights/Xenons ON! BUT...there was a error as they were on Permenantly with ignition & so had to code back to default. So seems there is a way to do it but just need to figure out the correct settings.

so what are you trying to accomplish? you don't want your halos always on with the ignition on? as far as the other stuff, post the before and after, also, do you have a laptop?

just wanted to confirm this worked for me with factory bulbs (hard to tell the difference). Eventually one burnt out and I replaced with LEDs on a 2009 bmw e90 and confirm they work with LED bulbs as well. I actually coded them to lower voltage cause they were too bright.

Thanks to OP
