Well.. Hellfuckinyeahs.

Ya know the BMW wheels that look brown, usually in the front?
That shit is baked into the finish.

You will need Meguiars wheel brightener(D140), damn near full strength and repeated cleanings with your fingers crossed if you choose to ignore.

Or you can just ride nasty like and powder coat them down the road.
Or you can say F it and buy some new wheels and sell those on Facebook marketplace or Craigslist for $10.00

GOD BLESS AMERICA! LOL I bought these for a good penny. Uh oh they have been like this since last year! I changed my brake pads from akebonos back to oem and love the feel of the oem pedals. so your saying every car wash I gotta wash em nicely? They get exactly like that again LOL after the first drive!

What kind of car wash, self serve?

It probably wouldn't hurt to keep them clean so you don't ride Satans path to no return.
Get some dedicated wheel cleaner to spray and let dwell while you are hosing the car.

I was wondering about the color of the wheels, silver right?
It looks more like Akebono dust on them which is more black than reddish brown.

Mine get messed up with Akebono dust quick but the miracle of 2 coats CQuartz UK
make it a rinse and go affair.

IMO, your car would look better if the wheels and tires were cleaner. Don't forget the wheels wells.Never to late to change those bad habits.

I gave up wax.
For awhile I used Collinite 845 then switched to ceramic coatings on wheels.
I have summer / winter wheels so I can work on them during the off season.
Polish with CarPro Essence, let sit for a few days, wipe with Eraser then 2 coats of CQuartz UK3. Maintain with soap, ONR or lately ECH20 rinseless. with a ECH20/Reload wipe down

Im serious about the Sonax wheel cleaner plus, good stuff.
I mean Meguiars wheel brightener is what I would start with but any wheel cleaner would be a start. Maybe some Meguiars Hot rims, all wheel and tire.
Also, a couple of wheel brushes come in handy.

I have switched to a multiple mitt approach when using the conventional soap in a bucket instead of 2 buckets with grit guards.
Same approach as a multiple towel rinseless method. I like it way better.
No diddling around rinsing mitts.

I also have some Pinnacle Black Label wheel coating that isn't to bad if you want to just get the faces.

Oh shit I coat the tire to, but we will save that one for later.

..
Cleaned tires with Tuf shine then coated with Black Pearl tire coating.

I didn't touch the wheels, they were done last year with 2 coats of CarPro CQUK3.

The VMRs were matte black, I polished them to roughly satin/gloss. That was a painful process

It depends. From what you're doing probably not, but when the day comes it will take the right chemical and the right care to not scratch the clear.

Track days in the rain, tho, that could definitely permanently ruin the finish.
