BMWhat adaptor question
I've been using the Scantool MX Bluetooth for the last couple of years but it's just gone caput, so I think it's about time I invested in BMWhat, can their OBD adaptor be permanently installed like the Scantool (which switched itself off), or does it need to be removed when not being used?

Don't think so, just iPhone as its wifi. I can't see why the android app can't use a wifi adaptor though.
I wouldn't want to keep it plugged in without an OBD2 extender as they're fairly big units. |

The BMWhat adaptor stays live - I don't know for how long, if it goes to sleep with the car though as I've never left it on long enough.
Adaptor works fine with Torque and DashCommander too. Mike |

Q: Can the BMWhat Bluetooth adaptor be left permanent connected? A: ... no it should not – many cars dont let it go to sleep since the ECUs keep on communicating Last edited by IanS100; 03-11-2015 at 06:03 PM.. |
