Mixing e85 to raise octane
Hey guys,
My n55 is from Canada and has a Eurocharged tune optimized for 94 octane. I'm in Tennessee and we only have 93 so I've been mixing in about 3 gallons of e85. According to my rough calculations, regardless of winter or summer blend, this should keep me above 94 octane and below e30. Is this okay or should I get a different tune? I'm happy with the way it drives/runs with this tune. Thanks! |

You're probably just fine running the 93 octane honestly. There may be some timing corrections and I wouldn't assume that they are selling really hot tunes.

Our 91 Octane is worse than your 91 ACN. I run 91 ACN maps on 94 Octane since I fear running more aggressive maps. With 93 American Octane you should be fine!

Regardless it seems like especially if I’m mixing in a few gallons of e85 I should have plenty of octane for my tune without worry of timing corrections. Thank you! |
