DIY Replace Broken +/- Battery Terminal T-Bolt
I was tightening down my positive battery terminal when the bolt snapped in half.
Looked online and couldn't find anything for replacing the T-bolt on the positive side. It's encased in the positive battery cable assembly which looks like it's pretty much sealed. Anyways, to replace the T-bolt, it looked like I either had to crack the case open to remove it and figure out how to seal it back together or buy a whole new one which would be pointless Just to give you an idea what the T-bolt looks like, this is what it looks like on the negative side: What I ended up doing was getting a dremel and cuting a slit on either side of the bottom of the T-bolt so I could fold the piece of plastic back like a flap. The T-bolt fell right out: You can find the T-bolt at your local autoparts store but I opted to order mine off Amazon: http://shorturl.at/sM023 I know it's not as sexy as a Stage 2 TT DIY but figured it could help someone out if they ran into the same problem. |
