How to Buy Out of Province Car

Hey guys I'm in Ontario and am looking at an Alberta car. I haven't seen it but it's been inspected and the seller is a good guy. Any suggestions on how to safely do the transaction so both parties feel comfortable? I've heard Escrow.com may be a good route. Any suggestions?

Cash, in person works well. Lets you inspect it and argue down the price when it's not all it looked to be.

If you're able to get an Alberta registration in your name, you may also be able to avoid the Ontario PST part of the the taxes when you register it in ON. There's NO tax on private vehicle sales here.

Pretty sure you need to have a drivers license or a personal ID card with an Alberta residence listed in order to register it here.

I answered this question in the other thread you made on this topic. Tried and true method that works. If you cant afford to do it that way you should probably buy local, cars are a lot cheaper in Ontario anyway.

I’m in Montreal and bought a 335is from Ontario not too long ago, (1 of 42 spec) took the plane, paid in cash and drove it back home.

( I work for Air Canada so its cheaper lol)

Not the threadjack but where did you get your spec out of XX number data from? I've been trying to find one for Canada but I think all I could find was US only on the forums. I'd like to see mine to.

There's a thread one one of the other bimmer sites (there's a hint since BMWpost probably doesn't want me giving their url) where one of the moderators has "BMW production data" and will give you a quick report and answer questions about some things.

**EDIT** It looks like the guy hasn't responded to any requests since October.

I've got a 1:50, 1:14, and a 1:1.
