335i - Cold Start Belt Squeal
I had an issue with a horrible humming noise which BMW advised was the AC compressor and tensioner pulley, this was replaced under warranty.
When I got my car back I realised it has a terrible chirping/squeal noise on all cold starts which went after 20 mins of driving. Took it back to them and they said I need a new drivebelt at 65k miles. This noise wasn't there prior to the AC compressor and tensioner repairs. So I coughed up and got it replaced, 2 weeks later the noise is starting to come back. BMW are being total tools, I was wondering what it could be? I'm leaning towards they did a botch repair to the tensioner pulley? |

I had a horrible vacuum/squeal sort of sound on cold starts (~70k mileage) which went within 15mins of driving - drove me absolutely nuts. Turned out to be one of the alternator pulleys, got each pulley changed costing £350 parts + labour and no issues or sound since.
