nice build, I to got a cheap 07 335i e92 for $3800.

got it running real good thanks to this site and is an awesome DD

I am really interested in your brake upgrade as I am thinking about doing something similar.

are you doing front and rear?
do you have to run spacers?
do you need a special caliper mount or modify the existing one?
What car did those calipers come from?
What rotors are you running?

again nice job especially the hood

looks great

Thanks man,

The fronts are a direct bolt-on upgrade with the 370mm front pads from the sport FXX. The 380mm from the F8x work with slight modification. You still use the F8x pads obviously.

I am running the stock rears because there is not much improvement. If I come up on a set for dirt cheap, I may reconsider. There is a guy selling something to make them work. I do not have the details though.

I am not running spacers because I am running the OEM M3 Forged M220's. They provide tons of clearance, have E9X M3 fitment and fit the non wide-body cars perfectly. Once I put on my coilovers, I will check if I can space out the fronts a hair.

Love the callipers, they turned out great for sure!! I'm planning to do a very similar colour for the brakes on my e90 335i; a nice pop of colour, without being overly shouty

I don't remember the exact RPM for this issue, I think it was like 2300-3500, but I know it was putzing around town and highway cruising speeds where it was unbearable. I have friends with straight piped old school V8 pony cars, and this drone sounded just as bad as they did, if not worse at times. It gave me a headache after like 10 mins of driving. After a couple months I couldn't take it anymore and did the 1792 resonators out to dual mufflers and it sounded so much better. Luckily for me, it still kept the raspiness. I'm with you on liking that sound as well.

A sound clip after I had it "fixed".

Save yourself the literal headache, and get some cheap custom work done.

*Edit* Stupid YouTube link won't work on this site for me... Search "BMW E92 335i Custom Exhaust Setup" if you want to hear the clip.
Was reading through this thread and thought I should comment that, if you do want it loud without drone, make sure the exit of the exhaust is fully out from under the bumper. The sound pressure waves coming out of the exhaust hit the bumper, then go directly back into the car and it intensifies it. ALLOT. It may not work for every application, but on my older Bimmers, it 100% removed a nasty drone issue.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to be putting in resonators (Actually picking them up today). My Tips are going to be sticking out slightly from the bumper. I do not want any issues with catless + straight pipe.

Currently it is dumping under the trunk which is causing all sorts of crazy noises.

I finally got around to doing some work on the car. Going to paint the roof tomorrow.

I swapped all of the NASTY Gray interior carpet. 2 Toning the interior tomorrow and finishing everything up. It looks a million times better now!

Finished up most of the swap today. Have to take apart the door panels next week and finish that up. The new seat belts look so much better than those old nasty ones..

Finally split the rear door panels. Took longer than expected.

A few Updates:

Picked up an LCI wheel for STUPID CHEAP. I've owned it for 10 minutes and already modifying it to where I want it...

Also, finally picked up the final door panel for the 2 tone interior. My friend was giving away trim so I now have everything needed for me to paint the trim gloss black as well.

Interior should be done for now. Just to work on the exterior now!

Just finished the wheel. I really like the way it turned out. Also, now it is protected. Not bad for being into it less than $120

Yes, it was just an amazon cover. Goes for around $30. Was not too bad to do. Also, you can pay a little more and get options (If you message the seller). I really like the way it turned out. I will probably wrap my stock one and put it for sale.

Still in love with this wheel haha!

I will be putting it in tomorrow and prepping the roof for paint. Then hopefully painting it as well.

I am using a Ford black that has some metallic blue flakes in it. I think it will go great with the paint color

Dude, you do some clean work. Lots of inspiration for my 2013. The steering wheel cover reminds me of the Mewant cover I installed on my Nissan Frontier. Quality product. Good luck with the hood.

Finally getting back into this project. Have completed a ton of work since the last post.
Car is almost ready to be primered and sprayed.

Shaved the front bumper:

Reinforced the front hood for support. Also Sanded, cleared, sanded again. It's now ready for paint. Also, replaced the terrible chicken wire with some good mesh.

Car sitting sanded:

Now with most of the panels off and ready / prepped:

Also got around to swapping the door panels to the 2 tone. It turned out great. I just have to figure out what I am going to do with my spare set of trim.

Finally, I have been looking for one of these for over a year. I never wanted to pay the shipping costs. Luckily, TWO popped up locally. I could not pass it up.... Car would probably already have paint on it. This is my project for today....

I will post more updates as they come. Rotors are here for the brakes as well.

Also, who's mans wrecked this?

Split the roof yesterday. Took me from 11-5pm. A royal pain in the ass, but worth it.

Interesting day. Sanded the roof and then started to blow out the "Failing" portion. The entire gelcoat failed! Thank god. I was able to save this and make it 10x better in the process.
