Yeh the 9.5 up front give you an agressive stance, my only problem is the widest (will stand to be corrected) tyre you can fit without rubbing is a 235 and I'm not a fan of the stretch look of what is in essence a 9.25inch tyre on a 9.5 inch rim, alsways give me the impression the tyre is about to pop off the rim.

stretched tyres have less chance of popping off the rim... think about it, if the tyre sidewall is stretched out, there's more tension there, less sidewall flex, all things being equal, better handling too.

If you're running bulge, there's more chance the tyre will pop off the rim as there's too much tyre width going on with not enough wheel for it to sit on.

Firstly let me say i am not, repeat not an expert, but that does not make sense to me at all. I'm sure you are right but if i have to stretch the tyre to get on the rim would that mean less force would be needed to pull it off???

I'll try my best to explain

What's going to have more sidewall flex, a tyre with a thin sidewall or a tyre with a fatter sidewall?

Because the fatter tyres have a taller sidewall, they will be subject to greater pressure when changing direction as they attempt to keep the vehicle upright.

Whereas if a tyre had a low profile, or was stretched, then there's less room for the sidewall to flex.

If you get too much flex will eventually leading to the tyre coming off the rim.

Another way of thinking about it is (greatly exaggerated here), what's more likely to come off the rim a tyre inflated to a regular 36psi or a tyre running at 16psi? Because the tyre is running at 16psi has more sidewall flex, it's more likely that this tyre will come off the rim than a properly inflated one.

Regardless, if tyres are properly inflated and within a reasonable range of width of a recommended rim they're very unlikely to come off anyway.

Make any sense?

Make any sense? NOPE none at all. BUT i'll take your word for it

BTW the 3 series at the top has one fat arse .

When i got the new tyres. the chap who did the wheel align said that +2 deg on the rear was normal

I said to him with 275 on the rear would it make much difference if we would it back to +1. he said propably not a bad idea.

For reference when i took the stock 255 RFT's off there was a rather large wear pattern on the inside of both rear tyres, which is why i asked.

Lol ok..

you're talking about camber now? I have a feeling it may have been -2 not +2?
-2 seems about right, maybe a little too much neg cambera and unless I needed to run camber to clear the guards, on the rear of a 335 I'd run somewhere between 0 and -1degrees for street driving.

You can counter the wear on the inner part of the tyre by adjusting your toe angle, even when running some camber, but I'm not sure exactly what the specs should be.
