I don't think these are necessary?

How would I know if the plastic ones are bad? I'd get a 30FF code, right?

Convince me these aren't just engine bay wankery and I'm in.

The oem items are plastic and can crack and thus leak. The nipples also commonly break off when removing the vac lines, rendering them next to useless. Replacing them with sturdier items means they will last forever and in the case you were to have one crack you wont be chasing boost leak issues as the stett items are basically built to last.

I'm chasing a boost leak atm and i dont have any error codes... I've replaced most vac lines, boost solenoids, changed CP o ring and still havent solved it and have spent a heap of time after work stuffing around working on my car in an attempt to identify the boost leak with no luck and I'm getting frustrated....

Why does it feel like this needs to be sold to you?

It's a GB, which you justify if it is relevant to you or not. Lol

Well I look at them and think.. they're just canisters. I don't need them.

But then I thought the same thing about the OEM diverter valves... now I am replacing them at full price, not a group buy.

So.. if it's inevitable that I'll need them one day on a modified car, then I may as well get them now at a discount... but if they're just flashy replacements for an engine bay item that never had a problem to begin with, I'll find something else to throw $200 at.

Edit: I would have thought they'd show a 30FF low boost code if there was a leak somewhere though. How do you know if you've got a leak if it doesn't cause engine codes?

At $135 USD each isn't this more like $345 AUSD at the current exchange rate?

Oh yeh I forgot to add postage Scotty
But you are buying two aren't you??
The pic at the start of this thread shows the canisters as a pair
Anyway $200 buck per canister is still a bargain, if I had the cash and knew how to install, id be in too

Remember that bloke Brule started a thread stating the importance of logging your car? This is how you identify issues such as a boost leak, timing corrections, fuel pressures etc etc

Well on the Stett site it talks about them as a "set" and the price is 159, so I assume that 135 is for two canisters (1 complete car)...
