Garage List
Wagner tuning
pros:
- Near perfect fitment (plus 2 mounting points just like oem).
- Stock-like look. Looks like stock dp when baked good.
- Euro 6 spec 200-cell cat. Efficient and in good quality.
- Least likely to throw CEL.
- 2 year warranty.
cons:
- No ceramic coating option

There are much better options for F-series cars.
ER and Fabspeed ones for example.
For E-series, aFe, AR, Cobb, Wagner, and VRSF offer catted dp.
Exhaust volume should be similar among all brands.

So here is a pattern that I noticed. Keep in mind I have nothing to back it up, only what I've read about on a few websites about E90 N55s and high flow cats. Ignore any aftermarket tunes that suppress CELs, I'm talking about stock tuning here.

It seems like the people that do not get CELs from high flow cats don't live in the USA. Supposedly the Euro E90s have a different catalytic converter efficiency table (much more lax) than in the USA (more strict). This would allow more efficient high flow cats to work fine in Euro cars but throw CELs in USA cars.

Correct me if I'm wrong but just an interesting observation.

If you want the same power increase without the fuel smell and loud noise, getting a catted DP is a good option

Those are other reason why i want to switch. The other reason is NJ emission inspection due Jan 2019..

What’s the best catted dp?

I've had a Wagner for two years now with no issues. I don't know that a catted DP will pass emissions either though. Fortunately I don't have to deal with that stuff

There’s no guarantee that any high flow cat will pass state inspection.

Check the sub forum for your region and see what others are doing to pass inspection.

OP, stick with what youve got right now, pass inspection in January, then consider going catless. Whatever power mods you choose will be offset by some of the cost by not going with catted, which may or may not pass inspection. I personally suggest Going with MHD. You can save the downpipe youve got in order to pass again in 2020. Wash, rinse, repeat if necessary.

Downpipe (catless and high flow catted) are illegal on emission controlled vehicles

Thanks Mike.. i really thought switching to catted dp will make the emission ready for obd2 plug testing for readiness.
