ARM 7” Intecooler and VRSF 7” intecooler comaprison info

So after a long overdue update post comparison of ARM 7” intercooler and VRSF 7” HD revised intercooler ... I finally got to install everything and let me say.. not 1 damn 30FF code since install.

Below will be pics and logs of both intercooler a and their temps. I want to give Tiago Vieira a special thanks for letting me be one of the first to receive the new revised version. Even though it’s been months since I’ve had it on stand by lol. Took me forever due to work and all but I’m glad to say car is running cherry 👌🏻

VRSF 7” HD revised intercooler with lower CP

Hopefully this info can help people make a good decision on a purchase. I tried to use ARM but failed miserably and we’ll temps speak for themselves on logs too. Any questions feel free to ask , I’ll try my best answering them. Also as far as quality and welds of both... pics speak for themselves.

Previous post and info:
Alright... I finally installed the ARM motorsports 7” intercooler. Here are a few pics for anyone interested in this intercooler. As of yet no 30FF code. Will post a link to a unbox of intercooler in a few minutes after I upload it to YouTube.

Any questions feel free to comment thanks and enjoy or flame... whatever makes you happy 😊 will also post mhd data logs in a few also.

Edit: as of now 30FF code 🤦🏻*♂️ 6/7/18 shit only making like 7 psi

30FF seems to be fixed. Issue was flimsy ass pep boys vacuum lines 🤦🏻*♂️

Update 30FF code persisted and intercooler was returned.

I bought the ARM 5" almost 2yrs ago and had fitment issues so bad I was forced to return it. Welds looked horrible, and connector interfaces had bad angles to get the stock piping on. I was not impressed so returned it asap. Bought a Mishimoto and it went right in.

The restricted connector on your ARM piece looked horrible. What's the point of buying a large intercooler if it's that restricted? Glad the VRSF version is working out for you.

Did the connectors look that bad on the ones you did?

The connections weren't bad nor they look bad on the video posted above. Fitment has been spot on. If you are referring maybe to the bottle neck shape om one side of the IC that is completely separate issue.

Maybe I'm not being clear. The ARM tank end that connects to the piping seen around 3:45 in the video, that didn't look bad to you? My Mishimoto didn't look that restrictive. That ARM version looks pretty odd to me.

You said "fitment issues so bad I was forced to return it. Welds looked horrible, and connector interfaces had bad angles to get the stock piping on". That is different than the shape of end tank. I'm not discussing whether is restrictive or not and I will answer you question again: no fitment issues and connectors don't look bad at all, OEM piping fits just fine.

Interesting. I was merely trying to draw your attention to that portion of the video where the end tank connector definitely looks odd and restrictive. The ARM version I received didn't have that particular issue, just a host of others. Guess they have the occasional mistake make it through then. I have read where others are impressed by their products though.

Wow that end connector does look terrible. Sucks since the fpi is quite good.

I'm happy with my ARM 5" Intercooler. I feel as if ARM should have included the upgraded hoses with the kit instead of making it an option with in turn some people skip out on.

Fitment was good and it performs flawlessly as long as it's been installed correctly.

Recently I went down to the local strip for drag racing and I found where this intercooler falls short. Repeated pulls back to back will kill this intercooler, or perhaps I'm pushing too much power for this small intercooler, I'm at roughly 440whp.

Daily driving with some pulls - this intercooler is fine, but I definitely need to upgrade to the VRSF Race intercooler to reduce IATs since I've recently developed a passion for drag racing.

I've had the 7" HD for a while now. What's the difference/upgrade with this revision. Thanks.

Hell, it's only $100 more for the Race IC these days. Might as well just get that and really step up.
