The Autotrader ad is a scam.
Unless the sentence 'The Ebay Vechicle Purchase Protection (VPP) Program provides protection of up to $50,000 against certain losses associated with some types of fraud like paying for a vehicle and never receive it, paying a refundable deposit and never receive it, paying for a vehicle and receive it but not being as agreeed and described and for other situations listed bellow in the "Situaions where an immediate refund will be send to the Buyer" section of this document' sounds legitimate to you. Notice, 'Bellow' is not a word, that is not actually a sentence, at least in English, and vpp-center.com is not a domain name owned by Ebay. I'm still curious whether the ebay listing is real. It seems like it could be, but I think the autotrader listing predated the ebay listing. If anyone wants to play with the scammer or has ideas on how to get him in trouble, I'm up for some simple revenge. -Ian |
