How to test leaky injectors?

Seen a couple videos of cranking the car with injectors out, to see if they leak. Does this actually work? If the injectors are leaking, will there actually be fuel on the plug after it sits over night? Just trying to determine how to diagnose which injector(s) is bad. Rough idle at startup, definitely a misfire on a single cylinder but no code. Goes away after 30 seconds or so, I just want to avoid fuel contaminating my oil at all costs, so I'm going to replace the injector that's bad.

I had 29e0 fuel mixture control codes. Ended up being leaky injectors

No codes here... Just rough idle on startup after sitting over night for the first 30-45 seconds, where it's clearly misfiring on a single cylinder

Mine was like that with no codes until one day the 29e0 fuel mixture code became a reoccurring thing.

Does it only happen on cold start?

that video is made by me,

if it goes away in 30 seconds, most probably it is not injector, might be plug or coil

but with my method you could check it for sure

So how exactly do you test with your method? Pull injectors, and pull the electrical off? Then just crank, and if it leaks with the pressure from the fuel pump, it's bad? I'll make a quick video. It may be more than 30 seconds

Hello... Someone else in Utah..?

Anyways, video sucked, hard to catch it from the inside. I'll have to get it from the outside on a cold start tomorrow morning. It really was only like 30-45 seconds with only a handful of misfires, and once the idle drops to 600 it's smooth

If its bad enough you can see it in idling, if it's begining to fail then in pulls

Based on my experience, my experience is the same. Soon, the car will run 100% just like it does during the first 30 seconds. Of course, you can get right at it by shutting it down during the bad idle and start pulling plugs. Leaky injector will show up as a wet plug
