Mechanical Design engineer for a small company making laser imagesetters for commercial printers. Blu-ray might be the new thing, but we've been using blue lasers for the last 7 years.

Being a relatively small company I get to do quite a range of stuff. Design, draughting, prototype assembly, QA and test, sales demonstration, tech support, technical authoring, sys admin, etc.

I started out being a really, really lazy git, eventually drifted into serving petrol to give me beer money, then through the back to become a mechanic for some years.

Thought bugger that, back to Uni, got an Hons degree in Mathematics and through the University of Bern and a bit of luck now work in the Swiss National Programme for Radiactive Waste Disposal near Zurich. Also ducking and diving with my brother in several schemes, and some property development (houses).

As a sideline I also do a lot of web/multimedia/3D graphics (this might even fit in the hobby thread) : http://www.dmmultimedia.com where I digitally rebuilt the cars I wanted.

You might know a mate of mine who's job description sounds very similar.... property is quite a small world in central london?

He used to work for King Sturge, Chelsfield and then Global Switch - but now works for his boss who owns what I believe is a smaller independent outfit.

Is there any chance whatsoever, of you being able to set-up a mobile phone/contract group-buy for the UK members, Manish, possibly involving the upcoming iPhone?

Really, I'm being serious!

BTW- welcome to the forum!
