BMW: THE 18th MOST VALUABLE BRAND IN THE WORLD!!

This is very interesting. Its very interesting how some of these companies stand against the big boys. i.e, I would have never thought that Gillette would be in the top 25!!

http://www.brandz.com/upload/brandz-...ete-report.pdf

you can skip to page 9 for the rankings.

I hope this is not a repost...

Ahh, warn us thats its a PDF!

That list doesn't look very correct to me... (not that i'm a professional at that or anything)

For instance, remember when Apple was fighting over the name iPhone? Well some other company owned that name, and they were about 10x larger than Apple, so where are they?

Someone should retitle the thread because this is not about the 'largest' corporations. It's about the most valuable 'brands' and it's fairly subjective despite their analysis model.
Is BMW really the most valuable automotive brand in the world? I doubt it.

This is just global branding. Nothing to do with how large the company is.
BMW is a Brand and people know this brand globally.

soooooooo...

You need to take in consideration:

How many people know the brand?
What is the brand strength vs financial performance
etc...

But it is nice to see them 2nd to Toyota.

There's probably a good reason for that; Sony as a brand has been slipping for a decade.

Its not, it's second to Toyota. Look at the chart more carefully.

I need a magnifying glass, but Toyota is definitely who I would have expected at #1. The fact that BMW is way ahead of Mercedes is interesting too.

The one in the Top 25 that surprised me was Oracle. I didn't think they had the juice anymore. On the other hand, I was shocked to see Starbucks way down at 89, and I thought Budweiser would have come in much higher than 52.

Still, good to see BMW up there, especially ahead of Porsche by 17 spots. Wankers.
