Tranfering music from ipod back to computer after reformatting

Hey guys,

Some might recall that my computer died several months ago. Due to that, I lost my hard drive and all its contents.

At the same time, my iphone was stolen, so I lost all my contents on that device as well.

Luckily, I had a nano for the gym with lots of my own music mixes. I wanted to put them back on the computer on my new hard drive, but apple apparently does not allow this.

I looked online to find how people have overcome this problem, and the solutions I have found are more complex than curing cancer.

So, I was wondering if anyone on here has tried to do this, and if the answer is yes, what method did you use?

Any help would be appreciated!

May want to see if this will help.

http://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/home/

I use to use it with my Gen5 (old school I know) to rip tracks from my pod to a comp again.

Hey Havok,
I was in the same boat as you a few months ago...after hours of research I stumble on this cool software that did the trick for me. The software is call Senuti. It's actually a music recovery system. This is what every every music lover should have on their computer. You can google it. There's a trial version which you down want since you will have a restricted number of music (files) that you can transfer. So look for the full version...PM me if need help -although I have a MAC version! The cool thing I like about this baby is that it transfer exactly what you have on your Iphone, Ipod to your Itunes (playlists, video, etc).
give it a try and holla back

Hey Moreno1,

Thanks for the reply, but Senuti looks to only be for the MAC. I checked their site and they mention "Transfer music from your iPod or iPhone to your computer with this easy to use application for Mac." and when you download the trial, its also just for the MAC, no Windows option. I found the full program online, but its also all MAC versions.

I will try the program Revision2 mentioned, if that does not work, I may just ask my friend that has a MAC to do this for me!

Thanks for all the info!

Apple is really annoying when it comes to music and iTunes. Love the iPod, but hate the synching with iTunes. One thing I was never able to figure out is how to sync contacts!! So I just don't do them now lol.

I had pretty much the same problem. Solved it using CopyTrans and it works well. Easy, but you have to buy the full version. Free version (if I recall) just transfers a few files to show you it works.

Good luck!

Hey moreno1,

I just want to thank you a million times over. I just found the time to try this out, and it worked perfectly. Got all my music from the ipod on to my computer again, and back on my phone, and new ipad

Perfect free program that gets the job done with zero hassles.

Havok_2011,
It was an absolute pleasure to be able to help you on this one. I'm extremely happy you were able to transfer all your songs.

Enjoy the new Ipad and happy new year to you and your family !
