Aux and USB not working
I have tried to read all the threads on this, but very few come to resolution. Sorry if this is an old issue. I x-posted to the E9x M3 forum, but no traction, so I'm here with the wider audience!
Just picked up an 2008 E90 M3 and found that the aux and center console usb don't seem to be working. Symptoms: * In the CCC, AUX is greyed out in the Entertainment section * No power out of the center console USB port * Last 7: E215526 The car has the following relevant options: S6FL USB/Audio Interface S752 Individual Audio System S639 Preparation F Mobile Phone Cpl. USA/CDN S653 High Definition Radio Bluetooth functions fine (can make calls), no SOS errors. No apparent other errors. Questions: * I checked some fuses, but I really didn't know which ones * I checked connections to the modules in the trunk, and in the center armrest -- nothing looks disconnected, nor rusty / waterlogged. Everything looks as it shipped from the factory. * Is there a set of steps to diagnose? * Will this reveal itself with the appropriate scanning tools (e.g. at a dealership)? Thanks. I *need* streaming music from my phone to be sane. |

based on what you described already, it looks like you will need a replacement mulf2 unit, you will need to replace it, it's in your trunk.
after replacement you will also need to re-code in NCSEXPERT to make the new unit match your car's specification but, if you want to diagnose, you can use INPA to list out all installed modules in your car as shown in this youtube video (6:05) (your module should be called ISPB) but I suspect your mulf2 unit is bad and will likely not be on the list, since it's broken and will not be communicating with the rest of the car another place to check for water is under your driver seat, if the carpet is soggy, it could mean water under there, and there is a usb hub burried under the carpet which supplies power to the mulf2 unit. But I think it is a highly unlikely scenario since the usb hub is protected with a waterproof case as shown in the diagram below https://www.bimmerfest.com/attachmen...f0-jpg.841873/ Last edited by sam9116; 11-23-2022 at 12:55 AM.. |
