This may sound like a dumb question but I plan on installing this FMIC at home and what should I use to cut or remove the shroud in front of the stock IC?

for those who want to cut the stock pipe there will be no lip on the pipe and you are tightening onto a plastic pipe thats not meant to take much force. The coupler , if not long enough, and not on snug enough will be very prone to blowing off, which would become a huge PITA...

I wanted to order/install it soon.. i dont want to just get a 90 degree pipe and cut it, because id want the lip on the end of the pipe, and most likely well need to modify the pipe we buy either cut it or if you want to keep the lip, cut and weld it to keep the ends in tact.

how long of a pipe? I found this one, hoping I can get the top section to fit without cutting, but if its too long i can chop a section out and put a straight coupler and clamps on to shorten the pipe.... If i shorten it and keep it without much room to move it most likely wont blow off... but this brings me to wonder if I should just cut my stock pipe and pray it stays on....

Or better yet if this pipe isnt too long I can just cut down the Silicone coupler that comes with this kit and than that would be ideal allowing the lip at the ends of all pipes to help keep the couplers on. This all goes out the window if the top of this 90 degree pipe doesnt fit... I am going to go out to my car and measure later on tonight to see if I can get the measurement of the stock 90...

The bottom portion you mean...

its 9" from the bottom on the bend according to the picture above... whatever it has to be it would be a relatively easy modification to make it work I suppose...

If you look at this picture, it shows a length of 12"
If you measure it the same way it needs to be 8 3/4"

If you look at part number 18 in this picture:

You see that the lower charge pipe is made out of two 90 degree pipes.

But the one on my car looks like this:

I solved it by cutting down the included silicone hose to one little straight bit. I then took that bit and used it to connect the charge pipe to the IC.
This is a temporary solution until I have bought a new charge pipe.

The VRSF 7" IC can be ordered with factory-like connectors for 25$ extra so this doesn't have to be a problem and you can of course change the charge pipe to one that is not crappy plastic

Perfect!

youre no getting any leak from the cp to ic coupler location? bc the cp spot is not flat so there are spots for air to escape from the cold c clamp spot on the charge pipe not sitting flush with the silicone coupler
