N55 BOV

hey guys

I wanna buy a VRSF Chargepipe for my N55 e92. do I need a BOV? should I install it with the new Chargepipe? or I don't need it? if I do is it gonna be enough room for it?

No you don't need a BOV. It's built into the turbo so get the pipe without the BOV flange

I Also suggest a different brand other than vrsf. They have dropped off the map as far as customer service. Lots members having fitment issues with several of their products. Seen way to many threads complaining about them lately. Lots of good options, just wanted to mention that.

For what it's worth, I bought the vrsf charge pipe last August and it fit in my 2015 N55 e84 X1 perfectly. My only troubles installing were because I was lazy and didn't fully remove the air box, so it was tight reaching underneath it blind to get it connected to the throttle body. I also liked that it came with a new oring for the TB connection - my old one still looked good, but I swapped in the new one anyway since it was fresh. The only thing I didn't like were my meth bungs seem galled shut (good thing I don't plan on using them), and it's hard to judge how tight to tighten the hose clamp without crushing the oem plastic intercooler outlet pipe - but you'll have that issue with any charge pipe unless you also upgrade the intercooler outlet.

I also just had a vrsf catless DP put on. I didn't install that one myself, but I specifically asked the shop who put it on about the fitment when I picked it up, and they said no issues, fit up perfectly.

Sorry to thread jack, but how did you know your dv took a crap? Did you have any codes, or clues from logs?

Garage List
I installed my VRSF charge pipe myself and it was pretty easy and fit perfectly. I have removed it a few times to do other things. Now that I know how to do it, I can remove it in less than 5 minutes.

Main indication that your DV diaphragm ripped is you will have compressor surge and you will hear some chirping/fluttering noises.

Like others said the N55 has the BOV on the turbo itself. The option they give you on the VRSF site is for the n54 version of the CP which you can run with a BOV in the sort that you’re familiar with. If you want the whoosh of a BOV, the Turbosmart Kompact VR9 will get you what you’re looking for. You have to opt for the dual port option which vents half to atmosphere for the whoosh and half back to the system to recirculate like the stock one does. The plumb back one is just like a HD version of the stock DV.
