i think they would have a very hard time being able to prove how low you were running them. regardless, only being able to stand behind your struts for a single year just shows the kind of confidence they have in these things. sure they have camber plates and more adjustment, but what is the point if build quality is no good? heck at least stand behind the product for 3 or 5 years.. but only 1 really makes me want to avoid them.

ya.. thats exactly what I thought.. but the tech guy said.. when they open a strut.. there is a way they can tell what range it was lowered..

anyways.. all that said.. indeed Sonic's warranty is pretty useless.. but im not too concerned about that..

my biggest concern, is to get the kit installed.. and see what the results will be, by tweeking both strut height adjustment and spring compression.. if I can get it close to flush in front.. I will be more then satisfied..

All of our coils include 1 year warranty against defects and lifetime structural.

Most of the folks on the board are familiar with our suspension, some of the RWD guys are running our suspension with more than 60k to 70k on the clock.

In case you have a defect with your suspension, we do not ask you your lowering range, if it was driven on the track, or a receipt that shows that the suspension was professionally installed.

We designed this coil back in 2009, and until now it is still one of the most popular suspension mod we sell.

If you have questions regarding our warranty please feel free to PM me or give us a call directly.

Regarding the front lowering range:

Many of you know already know this, the XI system have limited space for suspension travel.

We want to design a system that would provide performance, comfort and give you the lowering range that you want.

Currently, we are at the limit for suspension travel with our current model and revision.

But we do have two new designs we are working with, to improve lowering range and provide the performance and comfort that BMW should provide.

This was posted by one of our customer, trying out our new open collar system.

Definitely better - in fact might be a leetle too much for me - but of course, if this is lowest - always room to go a bit higher...

So Jose-

Is this pic posted a true representation of current iX offering lowest setting?

hi Jose, thanks for the feedback.
so the pic you posted, is testing of the new Open Collar System.? what exactly is Open Collar..? when would this design be availble.

and Most importantly, for those of us who have ordered the current Xi kit, will the open collar system be adaptable to our kits? in my opinion this should be a high priority to allow this adaptation for current users. otherwise I would have just waited until this new design was available..

would appreciate some feedback on this matter please.

+1

When's the ETA on this system? Maybe I'll hold out for it.

+2, just received my S1 coilovers yesterday, maybe I should return these and wait for the revision again?

The open collar was just a test run for R&D, it's not anywhere near the final stage.

At this time we don't have an ETA when it will be released, or if it will even pass the safety and TUV rating.

For those of you purchased the coil, and are not sure about the current lowering range.

Please do not install it and email us immediately, we will honor full refund.

I hope we will find a better solution to lower the front of the XI system soon!

well its good news they are working on something new.. to allow more range in front..
but as Jose confirmed, there is no ETA and is strickly R&D stages..
nonetheless.. I am confident once I get my hands on the current kit, I will be able to tweak the front enough to get almost flush in front..

if and when, the new kit comes out, I indeed hope the new design will be adaptable with the current kit..this would be a big + if Sonic can do that..

alright sounds good.. yes please.. post back here some pics and indicate what adjustments you did up front etc.. and if compressed the front springs to get added drop.

since starting this post.. there are at least 2-3 other guys including me, who will be installing in the next weeks.. so hopefully there will be plenty of results/feedback soon.

theres been plenty of feedback/pics in other threads but it was all rwd cars.. they have no problems getting the front flush. so thats why I started this thread for specifically the Xi cars using the Sonic kit.

Got you! I'm hoping for a nice drop, not slammed but nice and flush, without any XI rake
