Trunk mod for spare tire

Is there anyone that has modified the trunk to accommodate or hide the spare tire?

LoL...i've been thinking that I need to remedy that myself. I dont really feel like dealing with a flat and no way out. I should at least put together a recovery kit of sorts...

I don't think there is anyway to make more room in the trunk. If you buy the spare tire kit you need to buy a tire cover and just set it in your trunk.

Yup, thats what i did.. Bought the BMW spare with the BMW cover/tote bag and tools.. All on the bag and set in the trunk.. its actually pretty clean with the bag, and doesnt take ALOT of room since the tire is thin.

Also if you put it behind a cargo net it will give it a clean look. I've been meaning to get this, but I rather drop $450 somewhere else.

How do you keep this from sliding all over the place during spirited driving?

Or you could put strong velcro on the bottom of the tire bag and it will secure to the floor

PhatBaja That looks damn good! Nice job.

I am struggling with this...run flats are almost done and PSS' are next. I have AAA and Don't/can't drive THAT far (vertigo issues) so I will probably just roll the dice.

I'd just buy a slime flat repair kit and call it a day.

Wink

Yes, there are a few ways to do this. One is to upgrade the trunk so that it can accommodate the spare tire, and another is to hide the spare tire. Trunk upgrades are not difficult to do, and there are many Trunk Upgrade Kits available on the market. Hiding the spare tire is also not difficult, and there are many ways to do this. One way is to use a Trunk Cover, which will cover the spare tire and make it less visible. Another way is to use a Trunk Liner, which will protect the trunk from dirt and grime and also make the spare tire less visible. Trunk upgrades and hiding the spare tire are both effective ways to improve the appearance of your car.
