If the former, I'd look at the coding forums and ask some questions. If the latter, pull your old module off and put it on. Make sure you follow the bleed process. Clear your codes and drive for a bit. That's what I did and it worked. Also have a 2007 e93 335i. |

BUMP! DSC pump - Confused
I ripped out my bust DSC pump today (not a terribly tough job - more time consuming) I'm looking for a used one, however i'm just a little confused by what part number to search for. It seems the e90 series (i have e93 355i 2008) has the same pump but lots of different part numbers. the part number on mine is 3451-6784765-01 but i'm also seeing the same cars with 34-50-6-777-164, 3452 6784766-01.
Is there an updated pump part number (later pump) i should be looking for or anyone got one they're willing to sell - ship to Sydney, Australia? cheers! |

So annoyingly, i removed my pump, ran 12v battery power through the motor and it spins just fine. Could this mean my electronic module has failed?
Also i'm still a little confused. On realOEM.com it says the latest and greatest DSC for this car is p/n34502460431 with no mention of P/N 3451-6790146-01 https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/par...&q=34506784811 |

BUMP! DSC pump - Confused
GovernUrMental OK i've found someone selling p/n3451-6790146-01 (out of a BMW 1 series)
The supplier is stating... 'Based on BMW database this will not fit as the OEM in your vehicle is different from this one. We sell parts based on vehicle specs. You may purchase this item if you will insist but we cannot guarantee this will work on your vehicle and the item cannot be returned if it does not fit.' i'm with you on the fact that it'll probably do the job, but just checking that the car model shouldn't matter...? |

Changed motor bushes way back to fix my 335i. Search well known website for "abs pump motor brushes bmw" or similar. Took me an afternoon to rebuild the motor, you need to be reasonably experienced in this stuff and quite brave. The motor wasn't designed to come apart with normal tools so you have to be a little destructive and there is a risk you will destroy the unit beyond repair. I bounced the armature on the floor when it came ut of the vice but fortunately it survived. Spun motor up before and after, didn't seem to be a huge difference but fault went away and never came back.
Bled the brakes, stamped on the pedal 2 - 3 times at walking pace and no further problems. |

Nice write up!
I'm researching this now, realoem and ista all have different part number. From what I can tell there are only two variants for the non xdrive models. The cheaper is the one for the 4cyl that has two torx screws holding the pump to the module. The other from the 6cyl models has a pump that is pressure mounted with two notches on it in the aluminium housing. The module for this one is held in place by 4 torx screws that are visible from the back of the module. Later models of the 1 series appear to use the 6cyl DSC for all models, and they have 116d for example that you can find for very cheap. Can someone help confirm this assessment?? (I'm working on this assumption and swapping in a DSC from a newer 116d that seems to use the same description of pump. |
