Glad they are still working out for you. We've had great success with the HPB 160W.

These new 240W do look great though. Thanks for your continued support.

240w look nice, but to be honest 160w are plenty good. To the point that I think 160w is way too much even during bright daylight - some people already think I'm a ricer - too bright imho. There a reason why OEM BMW AEs are so dim. Sometimes stock is the best option. I think with 240w it's time to equip them with dimmers - so that we can manually adjust brightness when needed

The 160W were a great offering. After having the 160W for 2 years and going to the 240W I have found nothing but pure satisfaction personally. Of course everyone has their opinions and they have the option of both now. Win/win

Finally got these installed! Man these things are very well made. They took quite a beating getting them in, but soldiered on like a champ. Bright AF! Highly recommend having a petite female or a friend with an iron deficiency assist in getting the tabs in and turned into place.

Thanks Jeff!

Haha, glad you like them.

For future installers, I hold one end of the wire and I drop the back side of the LED into the bottom of the headlight area first.

Then angle it as I lower it in so the LED will fall into place of the housing it goes into.

When all goes smooth with a slight gentle pull on the wire you can motivate the light fully into the housing.

Then it's just a matter of finding the appropriate orientation to finally turn the bulb and seat it fully. That latter part is likely the more "Difficult" part for the first timer.

I've done so many I literally do it with my eyes closed, I can feel for it better then I can see it, if you know what I mean.

Enjoy!

Yea....that's how I ended up getting the first one in the socket. Applied same trick to the other side, and got it on first try. It was the latter part that gave me fits. I knew I got married for a reason.

It seems to me that past a certain point, let's say 164 watt and upward, only the inner rings get brighter :

I like a more even look between the rings which anything around 100w can provide.

We've had offerings from 10W all the way up to 240W over the years - The inner ring will always be more vivid. The reason is the design flaws in the actual headlight design. The source of the bulb is nearest the inner ring and as a result the light needs to pass further away to reach the outer ring. Unfortunately, no plug and play solution can defeat this inherent flaw. Hope this helps understand a little better the limitations.

It's also worth mentioning, although these pictures were taken in the same place, with the same camera, same settings - pictures don't always tell the whole story.

I feel in real life these appear fairly more balanced then the picture represents. In the local community I've received dozens of comments about the lights in just a short time too.

Just got a set for my e93. I have an e90 also that I just got 120w for and they are definitely brighter than that. You'll like them. Here is my e93 with the new 240w. Pics don't do it justice. They r nice and bright white.
