MATCH UP8 BMW fitted in E91
Hello,
I have finally upgraded my hi-fi amp to MATCH UP8 BMW, and what HUGE improvement it is !! Also everything is plug & play 100%. Now I'm thinking about change speakers and have a question, here in Europe I can buy factory Logic7/HK speakers and subs for very nice price (about 30% cost of aftermarket setups). Do You guys think it is worth it? Maybe someone has done it yet? Or go 100% for aftermarket? Some pics of my garage work: and the girl: Last edited by Randall; 01-27-2024 at 07:00 AM.. |

Yes everything is cleaned, it was wet because of my pressure washing from the bottom (wanted to clean salt from the road). Now it’s dry and clean.
Can You tell something about my question (L7 speakers vs aftermarket)? |

For the price, L7 can’t be beaten 2nd hand, especially matched with the Up8. But aftermarket gets you even better quality at a higher budget…
I went with 2nd hand individual audio speakers. |

It’s very interesting info, thank You! I think I will take the same way. Have You change something in amp settings? I’m using audiotec fischer preset for BMW Touring.

In essence i start from scratch, time align all speakers to the drivers seat, set volume levels accordingly and after that i start with EQing the system. Tuning the subs (for me) is the most dificult because the perception changes when you are driving vs stationairy. Also sunroof open vs closed makes a difference. But i have a good “all season” setting now. |

When i leave only underseat 8" playing it feels like they don't contribute that much into the overall sound. 100w rms might not be enough for jehnert 8"? Last edited by Captain Buumer; 01-28-2024 at 05:41 AM.. |

not really to be honest. i had to let them play even higher with the HiFi speaker setup because the hifi midrange didnt play so low.

I have Jehnert xe 200's and morel dotechs running off a JL600/6 .
I put this in years ago I would get and amp/dsp now that they finally have decent output amps . Audio tech fisher Match seem like the way to go there DSP is well supported and seems to be better than the competition. The Jehnerts are really exquisite at detail it's all I need . Warm with ridiculous detail. Morels are good to . I can turn it way up with no distortion . I must say the lack of a true midrange 5 inch speaker is a downside. Stock stereo in my Model Y LR stereo is better than this aftermarket setup as far as separation and detail. They saw fit to put a 5 inch in the front doors. |

I have heard on other forums that the underseat location is problematic over 150 Hz. Roll off below 60Hz requires a rear sub for the bass-heads. Is this consistent with others experience?
