Best Procede Traction Control settings?
I understand that the 35% is about standard although I was wondering if others have experimented with the system a little more. I am on 100% stock suspension and wheels although I do have non-RFT Hankook V12 tires.
I feel that the system is still a little too intervening... does anyone know a perfect setting that will only catch you if it absolutely needs to... (a spinout for example). I know I could just fully turn traction off and leave stability on but maybe a minimal % would be better. Thanks ahead, Quest

no but seriously, some people have "lead feet" and an inability to control wheel spin.

I though it was the other way around... 0 would mean 0% traction intervention; right?

Agreed 100% is fully disabled.
If you are like me with a 6AT (3.46 gears) and ~470 RWTQ to the wheels, I don't care if you can perform surgery with your right foot, your car is going to lose traction once in a while. I have been using 25 and that seemed to work out ok. But I have coils and 19's with Nitto Invos which I have found out that combo is worse than the stock suspension/runflats for low-speed traction concerns. Therefore the lower number setting (more intervention) was better for me. I had a Wavetrack LSD installed yesterday so I'm going to progressively increase the number and see which setting performs best now. You can certainly do the same thing...to see what is best for you, however as you know however, road conditions, temps, etc will affect traction as well so there is no one number that is the best in all conditions. Good luck.

Yep, I am 6AT as well and while 35% seems to be good; it's still a tiny bit too much. I think I may increase to 45, test it around some corners and see how I like it. Thanks

I regret everyday not getting a 6 speed. I have my traction set at 50%....works well with the LSD. I've had it kick in a few times in 3rd gear, scared the hell out of me, wasn't until afterwards I realized what happened.

Last night I changed the traction control setting from 25 to 50 and the Procede intervenes less, which is good. However, I'm still getting a lot of spin in 2nd gear. Unfortunately 1st gear is still not usable. I love the aggressive maps, but the insane amount of torque is just making things very complicated. I'm hearing of a number of clutches going out and traction is such a problem, not only with LSD equiped cars but I'm also hearing xi's are having a hard time with low speed WOT traction. I'm going to ask Shiv for help creating a new map perhaps where boost is linear based on RPM...so start boost is something like 10 psi and then increases to 16 or 17 psi at 5,000 RPM up to redline. This would be terrific for the drag strip since traction would be easier to come by and upper RPM power would still be right where it needs to be.

I strongly would suggest to look into the tyres you are using.
I have spend a lot of time on finding the optimal street/street race tyres... and for me the michelin pilot super sport outperform all... Both on wet as on dry surface. It is almost borring. They are even miles ahead compared to the Michelin Pilot Sport 2... I have tested almost every brand. Not on milage but on traction, noise and comfort. The Michelin PSP are just very good. I even use them on the track now and then, but there I prefer slicks, nothing better then that when cornering.... PS: I do not use the Procede TC system, might start playing with it.

I have mine set to 50% with the 11-1 aggressive alpha map, stage 1, PWM meth, and otherwise 100% stock from snorkel to tailpipe - wheels, shocks, springs, and diff.
I also have the Pilot Super Sports, just put them on the rears after I burned through the PS2 ZPs. I have definitely noticed a good improvement in grip accelerating in a straight or exiting corners - high and low speed. I'm not super-worried about my clutch now, since it's held like crazy on both the worn PS2 and brand new PSS. I've driven a lot of other tires on other BMW applications in lots of varying conditions, and nearly none of the lower-priced tires can hold a candle to the all-around performance and comfort of Michelins. Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec and Bridgestone RE-11 are great but noisy as hell and can be scary in cold and/or wet conditions. Hankooks, Yokos, Toyo street tires, and Kumhos are cheap and perform like cheap tires. Continental DWs hold a second place to the Michelins due to slightly less grip and more tread noise once you get a couple thousand miles on them. Haven't run any Pirelli extreme performance tires, but they make a good, not too expensive all-season P Zero Nero A/S that runs well against the Conti DWS. I haven't read anything great about any extreme performance summer Pirelli tires, and I haven't had any customers request them, either.

Doubt any tire beats an LSD. And the tires wear out while LSD will usually last the useful life of the car.

Vredestijn Yoko's Michelin And some other brands that were far behind those above... The PSP's are outperforming for my setup all of the above brands.....

I don't know why people hate this tire. I've had it for thousands of miles and it's been great. Great comfort, great traction and great cornering... Sure they aren't PS2's but for the price they are excellent.
