Sticky "phone" button on sport wheel '09

My "phone" button has started sticking... has anyone sprayed Deoxit or similar into these buttons and did it have any detrimental effect on the buttons or steering wheel trim? Don't really want to have to buy a new button assembly, but will have to if the "easy fix" doesn't work as I do actually seem to get a phone call nearly every time I'm in the car for some reason

Just remove your steering wheel trim and open it up. Clean it.

Almost certainly unrelated, but the phone buttons on my car are all sticky - the car never had bluetooth, I only just added it, so none of them were ever used before me.

I know I personally got quite excited after getting my BT working. That MIGHT be related.

Sorry for threadjacking but is there any way I can "un-stick" the a/c button?

Push it a bunch, over and over again. Preferably without jizz on your hands.

But seriously, spray some isopropyl alcohol at it. High percentage, 91 minimum. Electronics cleaner if you can find it.
