step 1: install procede
step 2: load up newest maps/firmware if it doesn't already have it. procede must be installed for you to do this..

here are the directions for loading firmware/maps:

It depends on which software you have in your ECU (non doomsday or doomsday).

The latest firmware and maps for the V3 rev 1 and rev 2 non doomsday is:
Firmware (117): http://www.vishnutuningforum.com/for...0&d=1243982261
Maps (5-29): http://www.vishnutuningforum.com/for...8&d=1243833755

It depends on the production date of your car (before march 2008 is non doomsday) and did you ever got en update? (It would be written in your servicebill)
Non doomsday = pre 29.2
doomsday = ECU v.81 or ECU v.80 plus 29.2 or higher.

Please be careful SoCali E90.. In that zip file from 2-19 there are folders for both doomsday and non-doomsday maps, since those maps were the last ones written specifically for REV I hardware. Shiv says there are more doomsday maps coming, but have not seen them yet.

5-29 maps/firmware can be used on REV I hardware, but and there were not any doomsday maps included.

If you are using a REV I procede, and not sure about your BMW software version, run the Doomsday maps in that 2-19 file, unless you have a BT cable to clear codes.

If you have a BavTec cable, then run whatever maps you want, just make sure you look for and clear ay tuner detection codes before going to the dealer.

If you don't care about the warranty, then forget what everything I said.

Yes, if you have a 12 VDC source. However, the harness would need to be altered as the serial ground source is not tied into the power ground with the updated harness. So, in practical terms, you would need to install it if you do not want to modify the harness.

I thought with the PROced CANbus & it's shiny new code-clearing feature, you can run non-Doomsday maps since the tuner code is clear-able?

heres a Q..

i just loaded for a friend (cause he's computer illiterate) who has rev I, the new 5/29 firmware and stg 1 maps. everything is fine.

question is now another friend who is also computer illiterate wants the new 5/29 maps, but usually runs stg 0 maps. no stg 0 maps were released with the 5/29 maps.

i emailed dustin and he said you should be ok running the new 5/29 stg 1 maps on a bone stock car. has anyone tried this yet?

Yep; shouldn't be a problem. If you datalog though and see any issues (e.g. knock or anything else), then you can always dial the UT down a bit from the default.

Yes. The prior few posts were about someone that is using the REV I hardware that does not have the code clearing feature.

If you really want information about ASR, call ASR. Asking about them in a thread that has nothing to do with ASR doesn't make much sense.
