DIY: Replace front indicator/turn signal led LCI module E91 (BMW 318d 2011 touring)

BMW has not really had self service in mind designing this

The front led LCI module is interchangeable between headlight assembly 63127245814(7245814) and 631172025849. It's possible to change this without removing the bumper and or wheel.
It's albeit a bit finnicky and you have to remove and insert one bolt blindly (by feel only) unless you have a snake cam or the likes of it.

TOOLS:
Performed on a communal parking spot.
Estimated time: 1-2 hours.
Tools needed:
Pliers
torx bits
phillips bits (star and flat)
Snake extention or angle bit for driver.
Source of light, torches/headlamp/cellphone (light and photo)
Tape
Module bolts are torx
Liner screws are starshaped phillips ~4 of then
The bumper bolt is torx or hex( allen key)

HOWTO:
1. Remove the front wheel or angle it to right end position
2. Remove the top screws of the inner liner (with the access panel)
3. Bend the liner invards into the wheel house (check picture)
4. Unscrew the 2 bottom screws of the LCI module
5. Unscrew the screw where the allen key is hanging in the picture.
6. Time for the blind bolt part
A. Aquire a tool that can reach the bolt (see picture)
B. Feel where the top screw sits, guide the tool, unscrew - keep fingers there to catch the bolt.
7. Now you can jiggle the module out, it takes a bit of manuvering, twist and turn and you'll get it out. The attached cable is reatively short but there is room. The top part of the connector
has a hook, has some resistance recommended either a small flathead screwdriver to remove or a small plier.
8. Replace unit or try to "repair" according to the video in the referred post.
9. Connect wire, verify funtionality and jiggle it back into position
10. Fasten the two lower module bolts to fix the position of the third "blind" bolt.
11. Attach the third bolt to the bit with either glue or tape, guide the screw back by feel.
12. verify funtionality.
13. Reattach inner liner
14. Have a beer, you've earned it.

I recommend to fasten the bolt to the bit/driver with tape or a small dollop of instaglue, or have a stash of fitting screws at hand

before removal.
