Seeing as how this friend had an M235i that he beat on daily for a number of years and it ran perfect and yet got a JGC with a fking door handle falling off straight out of the factory, I would say his complaints are very fair.

I leased a 14 trailhawk, dumped it after 18 mos. I actually miss driving it as I think it drove nice. 4x4 with lots of power from that hemi v8. Window trim came loose after a week and needed two trips to fix. Also had water pump go bad after 18k miles. That's when I decided to get rid of it.

Just, no. Jeep is almost the least reliable shit made, maybe just ahead of Land Rover.

Absolutely love my '15 GC. It's comfortable to drive, lots of bells and whistles, looks great, etc.

If you're worried about it, negotiate a 100k warranty for cheap.

Not sure what you guys are talking about. We have a 2014 Overland Hemi and the shifter looks like this. That ain't no dial!

We have a 2014 GC Overland Hemi and it's been a great car. We're 36 months into a 39 mo lease. The car punches well above its weight class in terms of features. It's extremely comfortable and gets 25mpg on road trips. It rarely needs to exceed 2k RPM to get you around. It is a little strange being in 8th gear going 40mph but if you pop it into sport mode the thing really hauls ass.

In our three years we've had to have a fan motor in the passengers footwell replaced (it was chirping) and we just had the rotors resurfaced due to squeaking. All under warranty.

I have to laugh at any BMW owner shitting on these cars for their reliability. I had my 135i for three years and it's the only car that ever left me stranded when it died on my birthday (HPFP, 6k miles on the car). It also had a recall for seatbelts that would ignite when you got into an accident, had brakes that squeaked like crazy, and had to be walnut blasted for carbon buildup twice in only 28k miles.

Yeah because a sample of one is reliable.

I agree with Absecu, we got a Treg TDI after ALOT of research and cross shopping the Cherokee. Google moose test and the JGC and you will think twice.

The moose test was shown to be fake. Sad.

Here's a good source of information on the JGC.
http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com...Cherokee/2012/

For some odd reason the 2013 and 2015 score well higher than the 2012 and 2014.

I've owned 4 in my lifetime (2001, 2004, 2007 HEMI and an 09 SRT8). Only reliability issue I had was a blown motor in the SRT8 (supplier issue with valve springs) that was replaced under warranty. They didn't recall the motors but replaced them as they blew... go figure. No other issues of reliability with over 200k miles (and 2 kids) between them all.

Towing is great but if you go SRT, you'll want a 2013 (WK2) or newer as the previous WK1 had center tail pipes and wasn't easy to fit a hitch (if at all).

As for modding, you can do ALOT with the HEMI version from tunes to headers, cams/heads, exhaust -- you can have a field day --> http://www.shophemi.com/

I'd also look into the total cost of ownership -- Jeep's are fairly practical to maintain.

So the new GC SRT won't have any issues towing a roughly 5500lb boat/trailer or a ~3300lb track car with an open trailer for 4 hour long road trips?

Anyone here tow with it?

Now I'm itching for a hellcat but i don't think I can wait that long.

If the chassis code doesn't end in a "J", it's not a real Jeep.
