In terms of Australian street prices, that's sort of in line with what I've read reported as it is extremely expensive there (as bad as it gets actually). Their calculations put it at $255,555/kg, which isn't too far out of line in terms of wholesaling when it's reported to fetch $300 per gram.

In a major US market (the further south the better), it's reported in the $25-30k range per kg which would drastically change this estimated street value.

So it's all in the eyes of street value for the country smuggled into.

The war on drugs is beyond pointless.

If anybody should be arrested it should be all of the cronies in the FDA that allowed the Slacker family to make $35b off Oxycotin.

Give me a break! Its Sackler. They are all physicians and made a lot of money by producing a time released opiate. That drug has helped many chronic pain patients and helped those with addiction. No doubt it has been abused by many but that certainly isn't their fault. Lets not even compare that to the illegal drug trade.

I have to agree, been through international customs enough over the years and never had them give me a second look. I use to travel in to Japan and remember customs there going through Japanese citizens bags like they all were smugglers, I would just walk right through.

Now, I work with a guy and this was pre-911 and he was traveling through Europe on business and came across Cubans Cigars and decided to buy a box and he too never been stop until this time entering the US. He went through customs and they stop him at baggage pick up, asked him to open his bag when he did they found the Cubans and took them. Here is where I got interesting they just took them and told him to go on his way, well he was generally an ass and he decide to make a scene. The accused the custom people of taking his Cubans and then taken them home to smoke them, he demand if they were going to take them they had to destroy them right then any there. I was convince they heading out back to smoke them. He almost got arrest over the whole thing lucky other people traveling with him got him calm down.

No one who was traveling with him could figure out why they single him out other than the fact he tends to act like an ass.
