Coding how to’s for a newbie?

I recently bought my first BMW, and want to start learning about coding... since I’ve never had a BMW before the tools are all a bit confusing to me. Has anyone created a primer on all the standard tools, their uses, etc... for example I have no clue what Datens are (assuming something related to date). Anyway, as always any links to an faq / video / post that would explain it all would be appreciated. Cheers.
