Pre Coded CIC

Has anybody ever bought a pre scripted CIC unit to replace their CCC? There's a guy on the bay who sells them with good feedback, apparently plug and play as it's all coded to your vehicle beforehand.

Yup, cic can be pre-coded.
Would I be able to retain use of the armrest usb for playing music?

I currently have CCC and use the y-cable to play music and display track listings on the idrive.

If you inform the seller(of cic) about it and give last 7 digits of vin, I cannot see that a reasonable coder cannot do that for you. Simply, yes.

I've just had one fitted. Gave the seller my VIN and he rebuilt the VO into the CIC unit. Absolutely everything ported across seamlessly - even the bluetooth code from the old head unit. Even though the CIC until wasn't originally from an m3, the coding has worked so that the images that come up (like parking sensors and service requirements) come up as an M3.

Took him about 8hours to code, apparently. They're dead easy to install too.

Was this bought online and coded prior to being sent out?

Awesome. Was it a UK seller? I'm interested in getting the CIC. Did you need any other trim facias going from CCC to CIC other than the centre console?

I was thinking of the AVIN usa idrive upgrade but CIC keeps things more oem.

Does he sell more units? Wouldn't mind contacting him if he does.

He does sell more units, and codes them for you.

You'd have to become a member of M3Cutters though, before you'd be able to contact him. His handle on there is alpina527

Maybe 3 hours? Would have been less if the glove box hadn't been an @rsehole and my shoulders giving up trying to re-seat it and screw it in at the same time.

Can't wait to tackle that then ha! Does the glovebox have to be off for all the wires that go into cic or is it just for the usb glovebox lead?

Ian updated by CIC to V41 and coded and provided the Combox. All done remotely on the bench.

This was 4 years ago and still going strong.

Well today I fitted my CIC, took around 2 1/2 hours all in. Some of the CCC plugs were a nightmare to pull out. Overall it's pretty straight forward.

The CIC works flawlessly and everything has ported over, I didn't even have to resync my phone for bluetooth. It's also kept my bmw online account so I get weather, news etc.

Also has the 2018-2 maps. Really pleased and would highly recommend Ian for anyone wanting a CIC. The difference between this and CCC is night and day. Even the sound quality is better now.
