I am kinda sad my buyers guide and key guide didn't get stickied. I spent a considerable amount of time on them.

I bought the cluster and If everything works I will make a full DIY as usual. $400 to have a cluster wiped and coded is stealership spec robbery.

Now you just need downpipes, silicone inlets & Outlets and the engine can really breath

I've been around here for damn near a decade and have no idea how or why things are stickied.

Your stuff is worthy of a sticky. You ask any admins how to get it up there?

I don't have a 335i. I have a 330i and I want to know how hot or cold my engine is like a normal car.

I PMed one of the more active mods and I didn't get a response. One of them has not been active for almost eight years. I am not sure how to get someone to come help us out. I think we would also benefit from a off topic thread like the one they had on the E36 forum I was apart of. I learned how to work on cars from that thread.

Why you need warranty when you don't drive the car?

I did my m3 cluster swap 5y ago. I only paid for parts and some coding because after the replacement the cruise control didn't work. I sold my 335i cluster so it was a wash money wise. I have 328i cluster from 2013 e92 that shows oil temp. One of the last produced. Removed it when car had 12k. Probably easier to retrofit because it will have less miles that your car.

Probably all moderators have move on to newer platforms in regards to monitoring threads and turning valuable info into a sticky. If you want try "abusing" the report this post feature. That will send email to moderators. I haven't done something like that but perhaps will give option to write a small note that they could read. If more people do it it would get their attention.

I painted my steering wheel trim today. It was not that easy to paint evenly, but it turned out ok. Not sure about color though, will it look ok when I put it back on steering wheel. I am thinking to vinyl wrap if color wont look nice...
What do you think? Also do I need to apply clear coat?

Installed my Koni yellows rear shocks, with stock springs. Set them from 3/4 from soft. so far I'm happy with it. Install was easy and straight forward.

Started painting the interior trim. I've been disappointed by vinyl wrapping and Plasti-Dip, so going with paint. I did pick up an extra trim set on Ebay so I can always go back to the stock wood look if necessary. My E91 is Space Gray Metallic with Dakota Black interior so I decided to go with a dark red for the trim. First did it in vinyl and it looked great except for pulling away in the corners of the vents. Have wrapped it three times with three different vinyls and just cannot get those corners to stick (Yes, I used adhesive promoter). Tried Plasti-Dip but it is too delicate - just pulling the trim piece off to run a wire for the GPS resulted in several tears.

I decided to use the same Magnetic Red Metallic that is the exterior color of my '99 Corvette. Looking at it in the garage, though, I'm thinking it might not be dark enough. I will hold off on the door trim pieces until I decide if I am keeping the Mag Red or will redo with something darker. This is just the base color - will do the clear coat tomorrow:

Ordered a set of new rims but will have to wait a couple weeks as I couldn't live with either of the original color choices.

Ive been through this myself, I painted mine orange.

After a year the paint pitted and became rough to the touch, it needs a thick quality clear coat.

If I was to go down this path again I would get it sprayed by a auto spray painter with factory BSM paint, then it would be as hard as the exterior paint.

Spray cans just don't give. good result.

Take a look

-Installed BMS 12mm spacers to front and rear. The 12mm in the front is spot-on and really improves the aggressive look. I may swap 12mm to 15mm or 20mm in the rear as the wheels are still a bit tucked for my taste.

-Install LUX E90 V7 Angel Eyes also. Definitely brighter; however, suffering from the common one ring is brighter than the other(s) issue. Kind of a bummer to be honest. Was really hoping they would look the same as advertised.
