Good practice is leave the phone in airplane mode anytime you're flashing

Yes, it has been tested on PPK cars and will work.

If our vehicle needs a one time bench flash, what needs to be done?

Exciting news. Really looking forward to the MHD future and its OTS maps.
I currently have JB4 with minor mods and run E50 on map7. I have a 2011 N55 335i DCT MSport. This might have an obvious answer but can I use MHD to carry out a BEF to install the latest BMS E85 map in order to help my trims and to also change the DCT pressure values?
Thanks in advance.

We're just beginning. Of course more settings will come!

Just put airplane mode on after starting MHD.

As Justin said, it is fine. The oem ppk map will be overwritten when you install MHD, and also restored when you uninstall MHD.

Runs smoother for sure.
At the end though, it was throwing the classisc 36BE code that you usually clear with NCSexpert after flashing new DME. Luckily, I ran DME clear again in app and it went away.
Make sure you guys clear DME twice. 36BE kills power.
Ran some logs with JB4 and posted the .csv's over at N54tech if you guys want to see.
http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43184
It's not lucky: MHD is coding the car like NCS expert when you to Clear DME codes if 36BE is active.
I looked quickly at 2 of the logs, to me AFR are too lean but it's typical for the BMS maps. And there are issues with timing dropping from 12 to 0.8 then back to 8. Looks like torque limiter kicking in.

You should have access to the flash option when running a custom map. Speed limiter can be edited easily in the map so we don't provide a flash option for that (by default on in our ots maps). But for the two others, yes.

You just can't flash custom with winkfp, the signature verification will fail. MHD is so much more. Like for logging, we read directly the RAM for values not exposed with the BMW pids. Or can make custom ROM modifications to add new features.

Will there be differences between the BETA and the final Stage 1 release? Just wondering if I should wait for the final polished tune.

This is in NO way a direct comparison to my custom maps because my maps will not be released through the MHD store. If anyone is looking to have a custom map developed once MHD is released, you can send me an email.
Can you (MHD Tuning) give us some background on Twisted Tuning's history with the N55 platform ?

I see from their website that they specialize in Ford/Mazda solutions, Link to TT

I'm assuming you're the same Justin that is the President/Owner of Twisted Tuning. My reasoning for the inquiry is to establish your level of technical depth, when beta testers post questions to you. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Either way, can you elaborate on Twisted Tuning's history with the N55 platform ?

e.g.

1. How long have they/you been working on the N55 ?
2. Any customer testimonials, specific to the N55 ?
3. How many N55s have they/you tuned, to date ?
4. How large is the development team, for the MHD platform, specific to the N55 ?

I agree, this is why I questioned the lack of any dyno results in a previous thread. Nothing against Justin or Twisted Tuning, I've just never heard of them.

Yeah I noticed it's a bit lean as well. Been talking with Terry and have been making changes, and some new BMS firmware. The roads here are very bad so I hit bumps a lot and it feels like TC kicking in. Almost no good roads to get a good run.

Car run's much smoother with BEF. And starts and idles great with 100% E85 now.

Also posted some more logs with firmware changes over here... http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43184

Just in case anyone is wondering about safety and quality, I have been running a custom tune from Justin for months now. He is really good and very responsive. I don't have an N55, I have an N54, but I would definitely trust his OTS maps, or a custom if you're looking to get every bit of power possible.

I have a BMW 135i 2013 with the MEVD176K DME.
Looks like I might be eligible for the bench flash thing... Do I have to send you my DME in order to have the OBD port unlocked for writing data through it?

Flash went well for me.
I have tried a whole bunch of the stage 1 and 1+ maps.

I currently have a meowless pipe and jb4+meth (meth and jb4 were turned off for testing).

Stage 1+ maps kept flat lining timing due to what appears to be overboosting. Most likely because I do not have a intercooler and the Wastegate Duty cycle was tuned with that in mind.
Running stage 1 map 95OCT now and it is very very smooth.

Timing target does seem quite low on these maps. But I imagine this is expected with a OTS map. Awaiting the stage 2 maps to try after I try some BEF flashes from Terry.
