Week 18 Support Group :)
Yo! What up fellow Week 18ers? Let's use this thread to track our progress, swap knowledge and provide emotional support for one another - heh, I know I'll need it!
So to start the thread off I have a question regarding the terminology, "Week # Production". What does saying "Week 18 Production" actually mean? Is it the 18th week of the calendar year? Is the the 18th week of production for that model? WHEN exactly is Week 18? (I would like to highlight the week in my outlook calendar).

Well, I'm hoping to be Week 18. I placed my order about a week ago but have to wait for my dealer to get their allocation in approx 21 days. It'll either be 18 or 19.
I'm getting a 328Xi, manual, Titanium Silver, Black leather/gray poplar, PP, SP, CW, CA, 18" wheels. It's funny that this is considered a "stripped" car. This wait is gonna suck!! |

Way to start the group nub! I'm sure by the time week 18 comes, we'll all be in straight jackets!

Ok, I need to vent. I have been seeing all of these posts from people who ordered way after me and getting production weeks much sooner than mine! WTF???!!!! I'm not mad, I'm just jealous! Sour grapes suck!

Yes you are right... I was in week 10 -- am in the final days of waiting (takes a long time for these cars to get to the west coast) and am just about ready for that straight jacket. But hang in there -- the first 6 weeks or so will fly by, it's those final couple of weeks that'll kill you.
Good luck!

Odered the 335i cabrio 13 March and got a production number 2 April. Build is supposed to be week 18 with delivery to me 1st / 2nd week of June. Hopefully on time as my 330 cic (on lease) goes back 31 May. I am buying the 335i as I plan to keep it for 5 years.
Equiped with: - Monaco Blue / Cream Beige - Premium - Sport - Comfort Access - Winter - Navigation - Alarm - iPod (6FL) - locks - mats Waiting is a bitch but the time will be broken up with a Mediterranean cruise from 20 April through 10 May so will only have 3 - 4 weeks to wait after I get back home. Was going to do a ED on May 8th but not exactly sure if car will be completed by then and did not want to delay getting it here to the states just to drive a few days in Europe. Thought it would be cruel to myself to drive it and then have to wait 4 - 6 weeks to actually get it home.

I think that there have been longer waits for everyone who has ordered an E92 335i.

Also, I'm wondering. When you say, "Week 18 Production", does that mean your car will be built by the end of week 18, or that it will start being built by the end of week 18 and might actually get finished in week 19?

I was scheduled for week 18 production. Called 1800# earlier today, and the customer service rep said that my car just started production today with 4/24 expected completion. :rocks:
Maybe the production line is speeding up...

I was hoping I'd get moved up given I've got a 328--figured the 35's would be less likely to be pulled in--but congratulations! |

I just talked to my CA and was told that I am currently week 18 (order# 3650xxx), but there is a chance I will get moved up to week 17. Is BMW speeding up the assembly line? If so, is this a good thing or a bad thing? I want my car ASAP, but not at the exspense of quality.

Ya I just called and they said my 335 was scheduled this week for "Pre-Production Pack", whatever that means, and should go into production next week sometime which I believe is week 17 but she insisted that the info might not be accurate and could change. #360xxxx

I just called up this morning and was told that I got bumped up to week 17 also, and that I should have another update the end of this week or early next week when it goes into production. If this is true, i'm pretty happy with the good news.

Yo Plan B, my car has the same dates. It was in paint as of Sunday night's 800# update message. We'll probably be on the same ship, etc....let's stay updated!!
