The one for MSV70 should be updated, I haven't got to MSV80 yet.

Also, I'm still not clear that the calibration affects CC on MSV80. It seemed like coding the DSC fixed that? Really, the better way would be to rebuild the file from the stock US 328i file but that would take some effort.

Everything I've researched is the msv70 has been cracked and is a dime a dozen. The msv80 not so much with that cas3 ews bullchit, smh. For months I tried changing my power class on cas3 and 6mbot but could never pull it off to stick on the cas3 side, I gave up..

Hey Guys I have a question about the BMW Tools. I printed out the directions and followed them. Then I realized Bimmerlabs said not to delete and replace those 3 folders. So uninstalled the program and reinstalled with out the delete. Now if I open INPA the F buttons don't have any cars listed and doesn't operate. If I swap the INPA from the Bimmergeeks folder it works. Any thoughts or should I just try a reinstall again. I want to test the DISA valves before installing the intake. I also don't want to brick the DME doing the RSA delete.

You still have to copy over the folders. You just don't delete them first.

You need to flash the RSA delete and then a custom calibration. There's absolutely no way to change the power class via coding.

Many people have tried to change the power class by itself specially youtubers and have mislead tons of people to believe you could not flash a 328 to 330 and convert to the 3 stage manifold because they couldn't get it to work.

Hey Hass hate to ask what might be dumb questions but here is another. When copying the 3 folders to the C drive it asks if you want to replaced the files with the same name or skip them. I chose to copy over. Is that correct?

I have watched a number of them, and have been tempted to comment.. but there's a never-ending stream of misleading BS, there's no point. The funny thing is a lot of these guys are selling their advice or hawking their Patreon accounts for what is either useless or completely false information.

One of them not going to mention names because well the doctor seemingly knows everything, requires you to join a patreon and pay up to 600 dollars or so to get a "secret special tune" to convert the damn car to use the 3 stage manifold. Pretty wild when it can be had for a fraction of it. Wonder if it's just bimmerlabs software

oh, I saw that one. probably. Although, our files are watermarked - and if he doesn't know how the power class worked, he's not going to know how to strip the watermark.

edit: hah. well, he's at least registered. Would be interesting to know..

This is hilarious to me. Doctor has got to be one of the most annoying people to watch. I also believe that "his" 3IM custom tune "unlocks a massive amount of hp, which you can't get elsewhere."

He also does a lot of stupid gotcha tags on his videos. ie. His "need to replace this if you have a BMW" for just checking if oil is in the ESS. Or how he bags Carly as a car killer simply because it doesn't warn you to have a fully charged battery before coding. I will say his WinKFP setup video was good tho, albeit not original info. Ie he watches and comments on VehicularDIY.

The guy is a massive fraud, on behalf of the UK I apologise for him. Every video he goes on about "you know me guys, I only use genuine gaskets" and then links to cheap Chinese gaskets just so he can get his commission. I expect his next video will be "You must do this or your BMW will explode immediately" and it'll be him clearing the leaves out of the water drain.

Comments here does crack me up. Interesting read here so far.

So following & subscribed the tread as I've just bought the DCAN plug too.

After days of searching stumbled on this. It looks more user friendly to the Winkfp bmw tools.

https://www.vividracing.com/tuned-ec...152668280.html

My question is....do coincidentally the Hassmachine edited Bimmerlabs tunes work with this VRtuning software.

As the engine specs below With the N52 appear to be.

N52b25.
Piston stroke, mm (inch) 78.8 (3.1)
Cylinder bore, mm (inch) 82 (3.23)

N52b30.
Piston stroke, mm (inch) 88 (3.46)
Cylinder bore, mm (inch) 85 (3.35)

The block may be the same however the cylinder diameter differs, so one will get 200kw out as opposed to 160kw.

With the Bimmerlabs tune one may have the potential to reach 280+ hp vs the other 350+ hp odd that right? Or am I living on a different planet where gravity doesnt affect BMW velocity.

Lol yeah that's why they had to use like 3 sets of vanos solenoids that were supposedly oem until they got one that was good because it's Chinese stuff

You have to get the thing bench flashed which involves removing your ECU, definitely not more user friendly. All their software does is let you switch back to stock. Honestly the bimmerlabs tune couldn't be any simpler, if it really scares you then post in the coding section and/or classifieds and pay someone to remotely guide you through it but it's really not necessary. There's even a youtube DIY that you can follow (*no subscription required!*).

That is for an N52B30. The US never had the N52B25 - it would also be more like 180hp, stock not 218.

232hp out of an N52B30 with a stock single stage manifold is basically the exact same power as a 328i, bone stock. So you're paying for basically a non-tuned 328i file? Also, that's $500 for having to send in your DME, and even more if you want their flasher (which still needs a Windows PC).

for $500 you can get a 3 stage manifold and just flash the 330i tune. it's a factory 255bhp.

Flashing the 330i file over their file would just erase it, so it would be completely pointless to buy one software and flash it over with another.

Hey I finally got the cable and a few spare minutes to flash my car. Between the great instructions from Bimmerlabs and informational, fun and easy to follow video by E92William it was pretty easy. Windows Defender tried to stop me and I had to run the batch file twice before it worked. It's pouring out here so I'll drive it tomorrow and report back. I still have to install the manifold with Vaico DISA valves.
